Over the weekend I introduced Grocery Goddess at a pool party. Thanks to one of the lovely staff members, Natasha who gave me this opportunity. I was really excited and nervous but immediately got to thinking about what I’m going to cook. I knew I had to bring my famous GG wings. They were a hit at the previous pop up cookout.
Few days before the pool party, I went and bought the materials I needed for my display and I bought my groceries the day before. I decided to make my GG wings along with vegetable kabobs, homemade kettle popcorn, strawberry pretzel salad & my refreshing strawberry lemon tea. I prepped the night before with the help of my friend Devin. It made things a lot easier for me until the stove caught fire (which scared the hell out of me!) and then realizing we got started too late because we didn’t finish until 6am.
Day of the party I woke up tired and excited! My dad came along with my friends Joseline and Devin! I cooked the food, packed up and we headed out there. It was a great crowd and I was pumped to set up! As I’m trying to set up, people just couldn’t resist coming over and trying my food! Once I finally got done setting up I got to announce over the mic who I am and to come over and try my food!
I was swarmed with all sorts of questions and compliments! Everyone was really excited and loved my food! It was a awesome feeling to see people enjoy eating my food and wanting more. I was also approached with a cool opportunity but you got to stay tuned to find out!
After most of the food was gone it was time to have some fun. I popped a bottle of champagne with my dad and friends and mingled with the neighbors! After being tired and almost burning down the place, it was a great turn out!
