If you ask me, it’s officially summer time which is grilling season. Even tho us black folks will find any excuse to pull the grill out! I started my grilling season off with some Cilantro Lime Chicken Sausage Dogs! I topped these with sautéed Red and Yellow Peppers and a Sweet Onion. Laid all this across some toasted Hawaiian Buns and Provolone Cheese!
Cilantro Lime Chicken Sausage
Ingredients
- 5 Cilantro Lime Chicken Sausages
- 1 Red Pepper, sliced
- 1 Yellow Pepper, sliced
- 1 Sweet Onion, sliced
- 1 tbsp Butter
- Cilantro, chopped
- 1 Lime, sliced
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Pepper
- Haiwaiin Rolls
- 5 Provolone Slices
Instructions
- Go ahead and add your butter, peppers, onion, salt, pepper and a pinch of your cilantro to a pan. Squeeze over some limes juice. Saute for about 5-7 minutes or until your desired softness. Remove from grill or set on cooler side of grill.
- Place down your chicken sausages and cook for about 10-15 minutes. I cover mine and rotated half way thru. I let my burst of the casing til the juices started flowing creating smoke on the grill. Gave it a good smokey flavor.
- Toast your buns on the grill til toasty. Add your provolone slices and let it melt.
- Now top place your Chicken Sausages on top of the melty cheese, top with peppers and onions, top with cilantro, a squeeze of lime and enjoy!
Notes
I topped mine with some pickled jalapeños and kewpie mayo which set it off! You can add whatever condiments you like. This flavor combo was very delicious, try this first!!
