My few days out here in the nola been pretty interesting. I had different expectations and quite frankly I’m crawfish’d the f*ck out! Traveling to different cities and trying food is something I live for but man the hype is real in the Nola. Before any of you New Orlean natives jump in my comments. I can say y’all pretty nice. I didn’t get to hear anyone say “baby” tho. But the southern hospitality is definitely here. I just don’t see how y’all eat seafood damn near everyday!? Iodine poisoning got to be a thing out here cause man! Every where you go it’s seafood. I’m a seafood lover but sheesh! I don’t want crawfish for breakfast!!
It’s not much to do out here but eat seafood. I went to one of those popular streets and ended up at some “hookah lounge” that wasn’t really a lounge. I think coming for mardi gras or some sort of festival or event might be more fun. Talking to some of the locals, they pretty much said the same. But you know anyone who lived somewhere for awhile always say their city is boring. Also, living in Miami has me so spoiled. It’s literally always something to do.
I was in full tourist mode and did cliche stuff like visit bourbon street which was dead. Next time I want to visit some mom n pops restaurants and not social media hyped restaurants. *rolls eyes* I’m definitely coming back to New Orleans to visit a few more locations and hopefully catch a festival!
