The holidays are here and its non stop cooking. Thanksgiving passed but holiday parties are in full affect. Its not a party if food isn’t involved! I had left over ingredients for a green bean casserole. I was thinking what I could make with it. Then I had the idea to add chicken to it. Then I saw a box of stuffing and was like yesssss sir! Im going to stuff the chicken with this and place this over the green bean casserole and bake all together. It went together so well. There was no leftover anything after this recipe!
Green Bean Stuffed Chicken Casserole
Ingredients
- 3 chicken breast
- 1 box of stove topped prepare like instructed on box
- 8 oz mushrooms sliced
- 1 small half onion sliced
- 2 cloves garlic chopped
- 2-3 handfuls fresh green beans trimmed
- oregano basil blend seasoning
- garlic + onion seasoning
- 1 tbsp unsalted butter
- 3 tsp salt
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 tbsp worchestire sauce
- fried onion optional
- parsley optional
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375 degrees.
- Prepare your boxed stuffing and set aside.
- Boil some water with lots of salt. Toss in your green beans and cook for 3-5 minutes. Drain and Set aside.
- Season your chicken with garlic + onion season and a pinch of salt. Cut a slit on top of your chicken. Add butter to a medium high skillet and brown each side of your chicken. About 3-5 minutes each side. Set aside.
- Turn your heat to medium and add in your mushrooms along with oregano basil blend seasoning. (Add more butter if needed) Cook stirring for 5 minutes.
- Toss in your onion + garlic cook 3-5 minutes.
- Turn heat to low-medium and add in your heavy cream + worchestire sauce. Sprinkle in more seasoning if needed. Simmer for 5-7 minutes.
- In the mean time. Stuff your chicken with stove top stuffing.
- Toss green beans in sauce, mix well.
- 10. Now nestle your chicken in sauce and pop in oven for 30-40 minutes or until chicken is done.
- 11. Sprinkle over fried onion and parsley, enjoy!
